Huawei Mate 20 Pro: Specs, Features and Official Images

Huawei the Chinese smartphone manufacturer will launch its two new top smartphones of the Mate 20 series in just over three weeks now. We already have official pictures of the Huawei Mate 20 Pro and three of the planned color variants for Europe as well as some new details about the specifications of the new flagship smartphones.

Huawei Mate 20 Pro Specs

The leaked photos show large notch on its screen display, a triple camera setup and in-display fingerprint sensor. The Huawei Mate 20 Pro hasn’t been subject to so many leaks and early previews. With that being said, this is the first time we’re seeing full renders of the Huawei Mate 20 Pro.

The renders are in three different finishes: Blue, Black, and Twilight. All color options have black bezels, as per the industry standard these days. Of course, the most attractive one is the Twilight, which looks more like the recently announced Morpho Aurora color for the P20 Pro that was announced last month at IFA.

With less than a few weeks before the arrival of the Huawei Mate 20 Pro, a few renders make it online and show key features of the phone. Although we can’t confirm that these are 100% the real deal, we can check that it coincide with other circulating rumors.

According to the sources, the Mate 20 Pro will sport a Leica-powered triple camera module in a square setup. The flash and the what I assume is the main sensor are on the first row, followed by two more sensors (monochrome and zoom).

Huawei Mate 20 Pro Features

The front of the handset, it is more iPhone XS-like notch which is said to house face recognition hardware along with the front camera and the earpiece. This one coincides with other rumors that suggest the series will come with a like waterdrop notch. But seeing as the Mate 20 Lite has a regular notch, the chances of having the same design on the Pro model is high. Maybe the non-pro version will have it.

The renders also seem to lack a physical fingerprint sensor which suggests the phone will use an in-display option, as some rumors are pointing to. The tech did appear on the Huawei Mate RS Porsche Design so its highly possible they’re adapting it for the Mate 20 Pro.The Huawei Mate 20 Pro will be the first Huawei phone to use the HiSilicon Kirin 980 processor. Other rumored specs include an OLED display and a large 4,000 mAh battery.

The Mate 20 Pro will be the first device to use Huawei’s new HiSilicon Kirin 980 CPU, Huawei’s first CPU with the 7nm process. Aside from that, not too much more is known about the Mate 20 Pro. Well, there are a few camera features (underwater mode) that were uncovered, as well as the possible resolutions of both devices' displays. There is also the possibility of a battery larger than 4,000 mAh. All will be revealed on October 16 at Huawei’s launch event in London.
