Huawei Nova 4 with in-screen selfie camera to launch on December 17 in China

Huawei the Chinese mobile manufacturer has posted a photo on Weibo, teasing that its upcoming Nova smartphone and successor to the Nova 3, the Huawei Nova 4. Huawei revealed that they will launch the Nova 4 their first smartphone with an In-Screen selfie camera on December 17, 2018 in China.

The teaser image Huawei released showed a smartphone with camera hole in front instead of a notch. The new teaser also showed that the device will be officially dubbed as the Huawei Nova 4. Huawei has posted its launch poster on Weibo showing the device’s all-screen front. But what’s interesting is that dot on the upper left corner which, in a way, confirms the new screen design for its selfie camera.

Samsung tries to not lose its crown as the number one mobile vendor, the Korean tech company recently held its Galaxy event, showcasing its latest innovations like its foldable phone, and its upcoming displays. These technologies are expected to be seen on its upcoming flagship smartphones next year.

Huawei seemed to steal its spotlight, as the Nova 4 is set to be the first smartphone to boast an in-display selfie snapper. As seen on its teaser photo, the device will sport a hole in the upper left corner of the display, which doubles as the front camera of the phone.

In terms of specs, the Nova 4 is expected to have the 7nm Kirin 980 SoC, 6GB of RAM with 128GB of storage. We also expect 4GB/128GB variants available in other regions as well. It is also expected to have a dual camera setup at the back. Rumors are also saying that it could launch with Android 9.0 Pie out of the box.

With this, the Nova 4 will surely deliver an impressive screen-to-body ratio. Meanwhile, Huawei didn’t reveal much about its upcoming Nova device. We’ll update you as soon once it launches on December 17, 2018, in China. Stay tuned.
