Xiaomi sub-brand Redmi has unveiled their new entry-level smartphone in the China, called the Redmi 7A. It is the successor of the ultra-budget Redmi 6A last year.
The Redmi 7A sports a 5.45-inch HD+ 18:9 display like the 6A last year. Available in black and blue, the Redmi 7A has a P2i coating to repel water and oil-based liquids, and comes with splash resistance as well.
Inside, the device is powered with an upgraded 12nm Snapdragon 439 chip with Adreno 505 GPU, which is said to deliver a 26-percent performance boost over the MediaTek Helio A22 with a quad-core spec that last year’s Redmi 6A had. It is paired up to 3GB RAM, up to 32GB expandable storage.

On the camera department, the device is packed with a 13MP main camera with PDAF focus, AI scene detection, and LED flash. The 5-megapixel front camera, on the other hand, offers an AI-assisted beauty mode, in addition to selfies with a blurry background.
Like other Redmi 7 phones, it also has a P2i water splash resistance coating. It also has a wireless FM Radio feature. The phone runs with Android 9.0 Pie OS with MIUI 10 skin. The handset is equipped with a 4,000mAh battery with 10W faster charging support.
Pricing is yet to be announced but it will launch in China on May 28.
