Samsung Galaxy A30 and Galaxy A50 now official

Samsung officially launched its new A-series phones called the Galaxy A30 and A50 in India. The Galaxy A30 and Galaxy A50 offer mid-range specifications and features without the heavy price tag, although Samsung has yet to reveal pricing and availability for its new models.

The Galaxy A30 and Galaxy A50 are fairly similar inside and out. Both handsets have fairly large 6.4-inch Super AMOLED screens with a small, round notch at the top and a diagonal resolution of 2,340 x 1,080 pixels for a 19.5:9 aspect ratio. The two also boast fingerprint sensors for convenient security features.

Samsung Galaxy A30

The Galaxy A30 has a 6.4-inch FHD+ Infinity-U Super AMOLED display with a resolution of 2340 x 1080. Under the hood, it has an Exynos 7904 octa-core processor, Mali-G71 MP2 GPU. 3GB/4GB RAM with 32GB/64Gb expandable storage and a 4,000mAh battery with fast charging support.

Camera wise. the handset packed a dual 16MP f/1.7 + 5MP f/2.2 ultra-wide camera setup with LED flash. In front, it has a 16MP front camera with f/2.0 aperture lens. It also has a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor. It loads up with Android 9.0 Pie out of the box.

The Samsung Galaxy A30 still has a 3.5mm audio jack, NFC, USB Type-C, dual 4G VoLTE, dual band WiFi, Bluetooth 5.0 and GPS with GLONASS. 

Samsung Galaxy A50

The Samsung Galaxy A50, on the other hand, has a 6.4-inch FHD+ Infinity-U Super AMOLED display with a resolution of 2340 x 1080. Inside, the handset has a 2.3GHz Exynos 9610 octa-core processor, Mali-G72 GPU. 4GB/6GB RAM with 64GB/128Gb expandable storage and a 4,000mAh battery with fast charging support.

In the camera department, the device sports a triple 25MP f/1.7 + 5MP f/2.2 depth + 8MP f/2.2 ultra wide angle camera setup with LED flash. In front, it has a 25MP front camera with f/2.0 aperture lens. It also has an In-Display fingerprint sensor. 

The Samsung Galaxy A50 loads up with Android 9.0 Pie out of the box. It still has a 3.5mm audio jack as well along with NFC, USB Type-C, dual 4G VoLTE, dual band WiFi, Bluetooth 5.0 and GPS with GLONASS. 

The Samsung Galaxy A30 and A50 will launch in key markets in the coming weeks. Prices are not yet announced for both devices though, but we’re expecting SRPs that are close to last year’s Galaxy A-series of smartphones. More information could be announced about the pricing during the launch in India scheduled in a few days.
