At the Unpacked event today in San Francisco, USA, Samsung unveiled its most expensive device they’ve ever made, the Samsung Galaxy Fold. This combines a phone and a tablet in one device. Yes! Samsung’s first foldable phone is now official.
The Samsung Galaxy Fold is a beautiful device with a hidden hinge system with interlocking gears that allows you to fold and unfold the device. The device features a 4.6-inch 840 x 1960 infinity flex display, which can unfold to 7.3-inch with a 1536 x 2152 resolution. In this mode, you can use three apps at the same time which Samsung calls Three-app Multitasking, giving users immersive multimedia experience.
Under the hood, the Samsung Galaxy Fold is powered by a 7nm processor paired with a massive 12GB of RAM. The device also features a universal flash storage 3.0 with a 512GB ROM capacity, providing two times faster than other phone storage.
The Galaxy Fold will come in two variants – an LTE version and a 5G version. The Galaxy Fold runs One UI with Android Pie. It packs a 4,380mAh battery which is actually split into two. Consumers can purchase this starting with a price tag of USD 1,980 (around PHP 103K). Samsung said the Galaxy Fold will start to hit the market on April 26.
