Facebook has added a new effect on Messenger called love effects. The new effect adds fluttering hearts to your messages. Its a great way to dress up the text you send, especially during these times.
Facebook Messenger allows you to add effects to text messages, which are displayed in the chat bubble. They are, initially four effects: text in flames, text with hearts, text surprise on a gift and text with decoration with circles.
How to add heart effects on Facebook Messenger
On the Facebook Messenger app, create a new message or open an existing conversation. Take note that the heart effect only applies to text and it doesn’t work on emojis or images.
1. In the message box, type your message you want to apply the heart effect to.
2. Tap on the Sticker button on the right side of the message box.
3. Go to effects.
4. Choose the heart effects.
And that’s it. You’ll see your message with a bubble surrounded by animated hearts. The heart or love effect is a great addition to existing effects gift, fire and confetti.
You can also choose others effect like:
- Confetti effect, which sends the text with the bubble with different geometric figures moving in the background.
- Fire effect, which sends the text surrounded by flames.
- Gift wrapping effect, displayed in the chat as a wrapped package. Tapping on it reveals the message.
Tap the effect you want to send and it will be sent directly to the chat. Note that Messenger clients that do not yet support these effects, like Messenger on Windows and will display the chat as usual, but adding the tail of (sent with love effect), (sent with gift wrapping effect) or (sent with fire effect).
